Problems with KVM Switch affecting screen quality?
Hello I just bought a KVM switch (KYS-102) so can obviously switch between to comps. Hooked it up and the general picture quality is now rubbish the test looks blurry. The scrren is a TFT HP VP17 and only had it less than 3 months, PC's are relatively new as well as keyboard and mouse. The screen has a software cd for adjustments etc, which was already loaded tried to make the adjustments using it but it seemed as if it was blocked. I uninstalled it and tried to reinstall from the cd but again seem as if it was blocked as it was telling me the screen is not compatiable which obviously it is, it came with the screen. Is it something I'm doing wrong or just a crap KVM switch. I didn't realise the switch could have that kind of impact. Obviously the screen has a manual menu but can't seem to find an option that allows to make the picture sharper if some has the same screen and knows how please let me know. I know using the CD I can but can't get it reloaded. many thanks
is it a DVI or VGA kvm? (if not sure, VGA=15 pins, 3 rows, DVI=lots more pins, bigger plug)
it's ALWAYS a bad idea to use VGA connections on a flat panel display.
if the "auto" thing on your monitor doesn't clear it up then it sounds like bad cables or a poor quality switch to me.
