optical audio cable and surround sound with xbox360..need help what does it do?
on the plug that the xbox comes with it has a port for the optical audio cable. some one said that i needed that cord.... what does it do???
my problem is that i dont have the audo/video pluggs on my crapy tv. when i hook up the red and white to the back of my reciver i hear sound. but do i need that cord for it to be true surround sound.
That port is an optical audio port for digital audio. You will need a receiver with an optical input and an optical cable to utilize it and achieve 5.1 diital sound.
